Bruce brings over 55 years of experience in martial arts and self-defense, both as a lifelong student and as a competitor and instructor. He began his journey in wrestling at a young age and ended as a Division II collegiate wrestler. He went on to serve in the U.S. Army for 30 years training Soldiers as an Infantryman. Throughout his career, he has trained, taught, and competed across a broad spectrum of systems, always with a passion for evolving in the art of self-defense. He is a third-degree black belt in Combat Hapkido under the tutelage of Grand Master Dan Dorton and earned his blue belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu under the mentoring of Professor Townley Hedricks, a blackbelt under the Gracie Jiu Jitsu system. He is also a certified Level I Army Combative Instructor. Bruce is honored to continue learning along side dedicated practitioners in the Jiu Jitsu discipline and to bring his diverse background into every lesson.
